Corporate Social Responsibility

Strato's motto, "Exceed the Need," reflects our commitment to more than just quality products. Our cross-functional teams actively implement and manage programs that reduce our carbon footprint, enhance safety initiatives, and support our communities through charitable efforts.

Sustainability is at the core of our innovation. By developing new products that lower our environmental impact, we reinforce our dedication to a greener future.

Expanding our commitment to resource conservation, we now offer reconditioning services at our Peoria, Illinois facility. For every four couplers we recondition, we save one ton of steel, preventing the extraction and processing of 1.4 tons of iron ore, 0.08 tons of coal, 0.3 tons of limestone, and other additives. This process also reduces CO emissions by 1.67 tons per batch.

Our SCU end-of-car cushioning system is designed with sustainability in mind. Constructed from recyclable materials, its non-hydraulic design eliminates the risk of oil leakage into the environment. Additionally, its extended lifespan—three times longer than hydraulic cushioning options—reduces waste and resource consumption.

Strategic distribution center placement minimizes environmental impact. By positioning new distribution centers closer to major hubs and customers, we lower transportation costs and fuel consumption for both incoming materials and outgoing shipments.

Flexible work options contribute to a smaller carbon footprint. By offering on-site and remote work alternatives for administrative staff, we reduce commuting-related emissions, lower energy consumption in office spaces, and enhance work-life balance.

We implement a range of carbon reduction initiatives, including:

Optimizing HVAC systems to conserve energy

Recycling corrugated materials, metal chips, scrap metal, paper, and cans

Utilizing biodegradable coolants, polishing additives, and de-rust solutions in manufacturing
