Strato, Inc. is a manufacturer of products for the Railroad and Transit Industry, and is seeking a versatile and innovative Design Engineer to develop new products from concept through production. Strato, Inc. is growing as the result of new products and a strong position within the industry. To meet and continue this growth, our engineering department is expanding and offering both challenging and rewarding positions.

This engineer will have wide responsibility for the success of new products and product lines. The successful candidate is self-motivated and able to manage projects with minimum direction. The candidate must have a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a minimum of 3 years professional experience. Responsibilities include both design and manufacturing engineering. Ability to perform material selection, stress analysis, and tolerance studies is required. Areas of manufacturing exposure ideally include metal machining, forging, casting, assembly and welding. Basic knowledge of fixture design, gage design, and inspection techniques preferred. Extensive 3D modeling as well as supporting engineering software experience is required. Good communication skills are needed for interaction with customers and suppliers. Electronics knowledge is a plus but not required.
